Associate Event Director
At This is Beyond, we don’t just run events. We create worlds where industries become communities, where connections spark innovation, and where business feels like an experience you’ll never forget. From our humble beginnings as a start-up, we’ve grown into a global leader in luxury B2B events for the travel industry that transform how people connect, buy, sell, and think. Now, we’re looking for someone special to take the reins of one of our flagship events and make it extraordinary.
The role:
You’ll take the reins of one of our flagship events — shaping its strategy, driving flawless execution, and owning its commercial success (revenue, profitability, and audience). As the face of the event, you'll build relationships with exhibitors, buyers, sponsors, and industry leaders. Reporting to an Event Portfolio Director, you will work hand-in-hand with our internal creative & central marketing team while leading the sales, and local marketing team for your own show. Your goal will be to shape an unforgettable experience and raise the bar of your show, every single year.
Who you are:
We know excellence comes from different worlds. You could be a luxury hotel sales leader who thrives on relationship-building, knows how to deliver excellence, and is ready to shape the industry you love. You could also be a B2B events professional who has led events from vision to reality, and knows what it takes to hit commercial targets while creating magic. Either way, you’ll be a natural leader, commercial, and passionate about creating experiences that people can’t stop talking about. In return you will get to own your event strategy, have the creative freedom to shape it with your team, be part of a culture that believes in doing things differently and travel, connect, and build relationships with some of the most influential people in luxury travel.
What you will do:
- Own and lead the event strategy, delivery and growth. You’ll be the person steering the ship.
- Hold budget and commercial responsibility (revenue, profitability, audience) for the event.
- Plan, coordinate and execute the event journey: from detailed timelines and logistics through to flawless onsite delivery.
- Build and nurture long-lasting client and stakeholder relationships with hoteliers, buyers, sponsors, and media.
- Collaborate with our sales and marketing teams to shape bold campaigns and event experiences that cut through.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring every edition feels fresh, premium, and unforgettable.
- Lead and inspire your team of sales, marketing and operations specialists: mentoring, motivating, and modelling our culture of creativity, excellence and collaboration.
What you will need:
- 9+ years in event management or sales (ideally luxury travel, hospitality, or high-end B2B tradeshow/ event experiences).
- Proven record of delivering large-scale, complex events for high-profile clients.
- Demonstrated success leading sales/ events teams and driving revenue growth.
- Strong organisational skills; able to juggle multiple priorities and projects with ease.
- Expertise in developing and managing schedules, budgets, and timelines.
- Financial acumen: budget creation, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication that is persuasive, clear, and confident.
- Creative thinker with a flair for designing innovative event concepts and solutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships across clients, partners, and internal teams.
- A team-oriented leader who can mentor, inspire, and support colleagues at all levels.
- Results-driven and resilient, with a focus on achieving strategic goals and delivering under pressure.
- Adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable with some international travel.
- Curious and responsive to market trends, client feedback, and performance data & always seeking improvement.
